Nobody handed you a teaching degree on the way in.

Most "summer curriculum" assumes a trained teacher, a supply budget, a room full of devices, and the same kids who were there yesterday. Your reality is drop-in attendance, a thin budget, and a nineteen-year-old who's a little nervous and would do anything for these kids. The gap between those two pictures is where a lot of good intentions quietly stall out.

So we don't ask you to be a teacher. The thing we hand you is something a helper can aim — a full morning that runs from paper, found objects, and bodies, with the words to say already written down. The part that can't be automated, knowing your own kids, stays exactly where it belongs: with you.

No worksheets. No grading. No proof to collect at the end. Just a morning that looks like play and lands like learning — and gets a little easier to run each week.

How a FIB morning is built

Every morning is built the same way underneath, no matter the theme your kids are into. These are the three that hold the whole thing up.

Analog first, screen optional

Every activity runs all the way through with paper, found objects, and bodies. A screen only ever deepens what hands already learned — it's a bonus, never the spine. No wifi and no device at home still gets the whole experience.

Two contents, one current

Every morning carries reading and STEM together, riding a single theme the kids already love. They're woven so each makes the other stickier — never two things stapled side by side and called a lesson.

Built for the helper you have

Run-sheets are written for a seventeen-year-old with zero prep — plain, warm, numbered, with the words to say. Low floor, high ceiling: the youngest and the quickest kid each find their own depth, same activity.

OMG...FIB came out of a simple stubbornness: a kid with nothing at home should get the whole morning anyway. Everything here holds that line. The people who know these kids stay in charge of them — I just make the morning easier to run.
